The detailed raised paneled woodwork of the white mantel provides a striking accent against the tan toile roman shades, chocolate walls and large black armoire in this elegant ground floor room. The french door opens out to your own private garden and the back lawn and fish pool beyond.
The Inn's bathrooms are far from ordinary. This bath features a handsome granite topped mahogany vanity and a tiled shower for two with shower heads on opposing walls.
The Vandercook room's red French door leads to a small private patio area surrounded by plantings of various hydrangeas. To the left, the hillside garden (best viewed from the Thorsden and Merrill rooms) is also shown with its large Giant Fleeceflowers with their white plumes (Persicaria polymorpha or Polygonum polymorpha). The unusual tree at the corner of the house is Heptacodium miconioides (Seven Son Flower). Deborah and her landscaper, Tom Carty, like to work with native or lesser known but hardy plants. You will enjoy walking around all the Inn's gardens. The Inn at Green River |
